Kalmar Motor AB is a well-known Swedish company that mainly produce aircraft towbarless tractors but also other special vehicles for airlines and the production industry. All design, development and manufacturing is carried out in Sweden.

Our products

Our products includes conventional towing tractors with towbar for push-back and maintenance towing operations on aircrafts and also heavy industrial transport, towbarless tractors for push-back and maintenance-towing operations on aircrafts.

Mini Loader for handling of airline baggage containers, Mini Transporter for transport of airline baggage containers, and anti icing equipment for preventive anti-icing and minor de-icing operations.

Industrial products apart from Tow Tractors include Platform Trucks for Die-mold handling in press and car-industry, and also different special vehicles, for example a Side-loader for transport of long cargo.

Long tradition

Conventional Tow Tractors with tow-bars have now been produced by Kalmar Motor AB for 35 years. Our long experience in Tow Tractor makes it possible for us to give you the best possible solution for your towing needs. The Towbarless technique has been developed by Kalmar Motor AB since 1989. Work has been ongoing to improve the technique. Todays Towbarless technology gives less cost and improved safety at push back and towing operations compared to conventional Tow Tractors with tow-bars. Latest contribution to the Towbarless family is the TBL 50, which also brings Towbarless technology into commuter aircraft handling.

Loader-Transporters (Mini Loader) for containers is our latest product for Airline industry. The Mini Loader is specially designed for Aircrafts in the Airbus 320 series but is also suitable for airports with confined apron space. With its small overall dimensions the Mini Loader is extremely easy to manouver, with driver facing forward in both driving directions. In combination with the safety system the risk of Aircraft damage is diminished. By making the complete unloading and transport of container into terminal building with the Mini Loader, the need for other equipment is eliminated. More space is available on the apron and both equipment and personell are saved.

Our Anti-Icing Unit with built in compressor and heating system is an effective tool to perform preventive anti-icing on aircrafts without expensive special vehicles. The Anti-icing unit is easily loaded onto an ordinary pick-up or van. Minor de-icing operations can also be performed with this unit.

Long experience

With the long experience from airline business, Kalmar Motor AB has created a series of platform trucks for die-mold handling in steel press industry. Fast and easy change of die-molds has been our goal when creating these vehicles. By an ingenious pull-push design, molds with weights up to 60 tonnnes are changed within minutes. Our experience of heavy handling makes it possible to build these platform trucks to small dimensions. This leads to improved manouverability in confined areas and so the possibility to make best use of press-shop floor space.

Among other industrial vehicles is the side-loader SL 1100 for transporting of long cargo. This is an electrical powered truck that is the base for various special adaptions. With good tractive effort and supreme manouverability it is also a popular tow-tractor in industrial applications.
